Well, I made it to 40 weeks which means I’ve been pregnant for 2 weeks longer than I was with Luca. As I write this I’m actually 40+1 so “overdue” and I’m honestly quite surprised we have made it this far, for some reason I was really expecting him to come early. Not sure why but I just did.
I’m not bothered he hasn’t though, he will come when he’s ready and as of yet I don’t feel in much of a rush to evict him. Although I would like him to come sooner rather than later so we have as big a gap between his birthday and Christmas as possible. Also because I really want to be able to go to Luca’s Christmas concert as I’m gonna feel ALL the mum guilt if I can’t make it.
It is nice to know though that whenever he comes now will mean Ant can be home with us for the whole run up to Christmas, not having to go back to work until after Boxing Day or longer depending on how long baby boy stays put.
We also now have a name for him, unless he born and looks nothing like the name we have chosen. Praying that doesn’t happen as we have no backups.
It’s fairly strange being at this point. With Luca, they began to induce me at 38 weeks and that kicked off my labour. So sitting around just waiting for things to happen is a bit odd. And every little niggle I have makes both me and Ant wonder if it’s the beginning. We’ve also been discussing how big this baby will be. Luca was 7lb 10 at 38+4 weeks so it’s going to be interesting to see how big this little man will be with all the extra cooking or if he will be smaller. Place your bets.
But for now, we wait. And the next post from me in the Cooking Up Chaos series will hopefully be our announcement that our little boy is here although it could still be a few weeks too. I hope for his sake it’s sooner rather than later.
