Dressing the Bump in BooHoo Maternity

So you may remember that I posted about how pregnancy really makes me lose myself.  I lose lots of confidence when pregnant and think it’s really important to practice self-care and take the time to dress in a way you still feel like you.

Well, thanks to the lovely folks over at BooHoo, these past two weeks I’ve been dressing in clothes that really make me feel myself again and it really has helped me step out of the door feeling much happier and more confident.

When they offered to send me some bits from their maternity range I spent ages deliberating over what to choose.  I think with maternity wear it makes sense to get stuff that will last the whole way through your pregnancy.  Things that will transition through seasons and also that can be worn in a number of different ways.   The few bits that I decided on are quite simple but it’s the staples that really count I think.  Having wardrobe staples that are flexible and can be worn in many ways means you always have something to throw on, no matter what you are doing or the weather.

So the first thing I chose was a pack of two plain tees, in black and white.  These are the perfect wardrobe staple for dressing either up or down, either for family days out or going out for a family meal.  I’ve worn them lots over the past few weeks on family days out and they are so comfortable.

I also ordered this black maternity, crossover smock dress which I wore for our 5th-anniversary meal.  I paired it with some high heels and bold makeup and really felt dressed up.  It was lovely to go out to celebrate together in clothes that I felt dressed up in but also comfortable.

I am also planning to wear it more dressed down too, with converse for a day out or once Autumn rolls around tights and boots.  Again it’s super comfortable and lovely to not have anything pressing on the bump.  Plus I think it will be great post-natal as well to hide the jelly belly that comes straight afterwards.

This berry coloured oversize tee is another fab staple.  I adore the colour of it and again its the perfect tee for wearing casually during the day or more dressed up with some bold jewellery.  It’s another one I’ve worn to death and is currently in the sale!

Last but not least is this floral patterned smock dress.   This is the perfect transition dress, and it’s been a lifesaver for the past few days when Autumn has felt like it’s on its way.  On our dog walk the other day I paired it with some tights and my Dr Martens and can’t wait to be able to throw a chunky cardigan on with it too.  I can totally see us crunching through leaves and hunting for conkers with me in this dress.

And what’s even better all of this cost just £40, so not only are you able to dress comfortably and stylishly in the Boo Hoo maternity range, it isn’t going to break the bank either.  I’ve already got some other bits in a shopping bag waiting for payday to arrive.   Thank you Boo Hoo for helping me find myself again.

*disclaimer – I was sent these items of clothing for the purpose of this blog post, but all views and opinions are honest and my own.*

You’re so cute pregnant! I love that you got some nice clothes.. for my first pregnancy I didn’t and always felt a bit awful. The second time around I got some nice bits and felt so much better. I love that it only cost £40 too!

After reading your blog post, I browsed your website a bit and noticed you aren’t ranking nearly as well in Google as you could be. I possess a handful of blogs myself, and I think you should take a look at “seowebsitetrafficnettools”, just google it. You’ll find it’s a very lovely SEO tool that can bring you a lot more visitors and improve your ranking. They have more than 30+ tools only 20$. Very cheap right? Keep up the quality posts
